Sanctuary Paws Alliance is a foster-based organization that provides temporary care for pets whose owners are experiencing homelessness or crisis situations. Fostering allows pets to remain safe and cared for while their families work toward stability.

Fosters play a vital role in keeping pets and their families connected during difficult times.

What Fostering With Us Looks Like

Fostering is short-term and case-based, depending on the needs of each pet and family. Length of foster care may vary.

Foster Homes Provide

A safe, loving environment

Daily care, feeding, and companionship

Transportation to veterinary appointments (when possible)

Communication with our team as needed

Sanctuary Paws Provide

Veterinary care coordination

Guidance and support throughout the foster period

Supplies when available

Who Can Foster

To ensure the safety and well-being of pets, foster applicants must:

Be 18 years or older
Complete a foster application
Complete required training and orientation prior to placement
Agree to a home check (virtual or in-person)
Follow Sanctuary Paws Alliance policies and guidelines

Foster caregivers are required to complete a brief orientation and training provided by Sanctuary Paws Alliance prior to placement. Training ensures you feel supported and prepared to care for your foster pet.
